Are you trying to find ways to save money in your weekly and monthly budget? Is your food expense the highest expense you have (like most people)?

If you’re anything like me you go way over the grocery budget! (because who can take the time to add up every item in the grocery store and also it’s so embarrassing to put items back once they are being rung up!)

I used to just pray I would hit my budget every week. Every time the scanner beeped and the total kept rising I felt myself getting more and more anxious and nervous. Finally when the total was $10-$30 over my budget for that week I just gave up feeling defeated and frustrated with myself.

This is still better than a few years ago where I wouldn’t even grocery shop consistently and would spend even more money eating out every week!

Now I have found a solution that actually works to help me stay on budget (actually I am going under budget each week) and save a ton of time!!

Walmart has FREE grocery pick-up!

Not only is it free, but they actually bring you the items to your car AND bring you a FREE bottle of water! I don’t know why but I get so thirsty when I’m running errands so that bottle of water goes a long way!

I just can’t get enough of this service that they offer! I freaking love it! I literally come home every week raving to my boyfriend of just how great the service is.

So what do you do?

The beauty is that Walmart is giving you $10 off your first order!

In order to save $10 off your next grocery purchase of $50 or more you must be a new user of their grocery pickup, have set up an account & use the link in this post.

Short Cut to Save Money

I usually go to my recent order and just reorder everything so I don’t have to select it one at a time. Then I go through and add or delete what I need specifically for that week. They even give you suggested items from items you’ve previously ordered in case you forgot something!

Click on Recent Orders and then order details. Then scroll down to reorder all items

Then go to your cart on the right hand side and simply edit the items as needed.

Saving Money

This saves me money because in the store I just start grabbing things (impulse buys!) but at home I actually get to see the total as I go through my shopping and if I go over I simply delete the items! NO embarrassment or frustration whatsoever! Now I don’t even go into the store half of the time which saves me a lot because once I’m in the store I always see something I “need.”

Extra Details

You chose the pickup location and the time to pick the items up. Once they are ready they will send you an email notification. You have to download the app and click check in to let them know when you are on your way. Then it will track where you are driving from and it will let them know when you actually arrive to the store.

They will hold your refrigerated items until you actually arrive to the store. They have a lot of signs so you will know exactly where to park.

Then they bring the groceries to the car! & They usually give me a FREE bottle of water as well!  It takes about 15 minutes to pick up my groceries!

Thank you Walmart!

I just love this, thank you Walmart so much for this grocery pick up option!!

  2. The ability to see the running total is a game changer! I don’t usually shop at Walmart but I may have to check it out.
